Agility Arena
The enterprising Cap'n Izzy No-Beard invites you to the Brimhaven
Agility Arena, entry is only 200 gp! The entrance is the bamboo hut in
the north-east part of Brimhaven. This is a
members only feature.
The Agility Arena is a huge cavern of platforms connected by traps and
obstacles. There are many different routes to get around the agility
arena, you are much more likely to fail the obstacles on some routes
than on others, some ways can not even be taken until you reach a
certain agility level.
One platform is marked by a flashing arrow, try and make your way to it.
Every minute the flashing arrow will move to a new pillar. If you tag
more than one active pillar in a row then you will receive a ticket. You
won't get a ticket at the first pillar but you will for every pillar you
tag after that. If you miss a pillar then you will miss out on the next
ticket so try and get as many as you can!
Whilst you are in the arena there is an indicator in the top right that
shows you whether you tagged the last pillar. It starts red, when you
tag the active pillar it will turn green, whilst it stays green you will
receive a ticket when you tag the pillar. If you miss the pillar then it
will turn back to red again and you will have to get it back to green
before you can get another ticket.
You don't get much experience for getting past the obstacles, most of
your experience comes from trading in the tickets you have collected.
You can also trade in tickets for some items you can't get anywhere else
including the herbs Toadflax and Snapdragon. (See
Herblore).
The easy obstacles do not have an agility requirement, the medium
obstacles require level 20 agility and the hard obstacles require level
40 agility. As your agility level increases you can take more routes
through the arena and you will start to fail the traps and obstacles
less often. You will begin to get significantly more tickets. Some words
of warning: there are a couple of traps that require you to use your
head; the hardest trap of all fires darts at you that will lower your
agility if they hit you.
There be booty to be got, ye landlocked landlubbers!
